Two days ago my boyfriend and I did a coast tour thru Maui and stopped by by the famous Nakalele Blowhole. It’s a very beautiful but dangerous place and sadly some tourists were soaked in the hole but as long as you stay on dry rocks and not get too close to the sight everything is ok. After a long hike down to the sea you see the ocean pounding against the rocks; Nakalele Blowhole is the result of the ocean wearing away the shore below the lava shelf. With each wave, water is forced through a hole in the lava shelf resulting in the ‘eruption’ of water similar to a geyser. The ‘blowing’ of the water varies dramatically depending on tide levels and wave action. High tide and strong surf result in the best effects. Why on earth do Americans serve iced cold water to every meal? To make us ill? The water which tastes like straight from the swimming pool is so damn cold and that’s the reason I got Tonsillitis in San Francisco. I was an idiot and drank it to my breakfast because it was so hot outside and I was seduced. But here everybody seems to be hardened to it and even small kiddies drink this freezing water. I know, in Vienna you can order tap water for free in the restaurants but because it’s clean and neutral and you don’t get a bucket full of ice cubes to it…
